HORSE Poker Guide
HORSE Poker Guide
HORSE poker has only become popular in the past few years and not to long ago the WSOP held a massive H.O.R.S.E poker event which featured many of the world’s best players. The game can be found on Full Tilt Poker and Titan Poker This was the games first introduction to the mainstream audience and from there it took off both in casinos and in the online world. Online poker rooms have begun adding HORSE poker to there game offerings and many players are flocking to these rooms. Not to many of the online poker rooms have implemented H.O.R.S.E poker yet, but I expect soon that most will have this game.
The game is very easy to learn if you know how to play the different poker variants involved on Full Tilt Poker. There are no special rules for HORSE poker except for the switching of games. Generally the game will switch every time the dealer button goes around the table once, although there are other formats used as well such as switching games every time the blinds increase. Whatever the format is you should make sure you know which one is being used before you start playing.
There are five different poker variants played in HORSE poker and are switched at pre-determined intervals as mentioned above. The five games played are as followed.
* Holdem
* Omaha
* Razz
* Seven Card Stud
* Seven Card Stud Eights or Better
As mentioned earlier only a few poker rooms have currently implemented HORSE poker and your best bets are PokerStar and Full Tilt when looking for action. You will be able to play in both ring games and tournaments although the ring games aren’t always that busy. Tournaments on the other hand are usually quite busy in H.O.R.S.E poker and they come in a variety of buy-ins.
When you play HORSE poker.net it’s best to be skilled at all five variants, but that’s easier said then done and most players have some weak points in there game. The key in HORSE poker is to maximize your winnings on the poker variants you’re comfortable with, while minimizing your losses on the variants you’re not familiar with. While you can focus on your strong points there will be times when you need to play other variants that you’re weaker in, but it’s apart of the game. This is why you don’t see very many beginner poker players trying there luck at HORSE poker.
Even many poker pros don’t play HORSE poker and the ones that do have trouble in the game. It’s a very exciting game to play because the poker game switches often giving you a wide variety of different hands to play. Before ever playing H.O.R.S.E poker I’d make sure you practice your skills in the five poker variants played in the game and then give it a shot. You should especially make sure that you know all of the rules to each game so that you don’t get lost while playing. After you get the hang of how to play it becomes a lot of fun as you can master the skills to five different poker variants at one time.
